# Quick Start

**Pre-checks Before Activation**

Dedicated Virtual Routers are used for Layer 2 networks to connect to the cloud. Before activation, please ensure that there are already virtual port resources in the console; otherwise, you cannot proceed. If you need to configure virtual port resources, please contact your account manager to assist with the offline configuration process, then log in to the console to perform the following operations.

**Step 1: Check Cloud-to-Ground Resource Access**
1. Click on "All Products" -- "Hybrid Networking" -- "Cloud-to-Ground Resource Access" in the console to enter the Cloud-to-Ground Resource Access - Virtual Port interface. Check if the virtual port allocated during the offline communication with the account manager is visible.
   
   **Note: The region selected in the console must be the same as the region where the cloud-to-ground resources are located.**

**Step 2: Create a Virtual Router**

1. Click on "All Products" -- "Hybrid Networking" -- "Dedicated Virtual Router" in the console to enter the Dedicated Virtual Router Management interface. In the "Dedicated Virtual Router" TAB page, click the "New" button.
2. Fill in the corresponding information in the pop-up window to create a dedicated virtual router.

**Step 3: Create a Virtual Channel**

A virtual channel is used to distinguish different routes on the virtual port. Multiple channels can be opened on one port, isolated by VLAN.

1. Click on "All Products" -- "Hybrid Networking" -- "Dedicated Virtual Router" in the console to enter the Dedicated Virtual Router Management interface. In the "Virtual Channel" TAB page, click the "New" button.
2. Confirm the function and configuration of this virtual channel, such as which port type to use, routing protocol, and specific information needed to be configured on the CE device.
3. Fill in the confirmed information from the previous step, create a virtual channel, and bind it to a virtual router (see the operation guide in the virtual channel section for details).

**Step 4: Access Other Services in the Intranet**

1. Access VPC, UWAN, or other virtual router instances: Use UGN to associate different instances to achieve connectivity. For specific operations, see the [Cloud Connection](https://www.ucloud-global.com/en/docs/ugn/guide/instance/associate_network_instance) product.
2. Access public services: No additional operations are needed. When creating a virtual channel, simply turn on the public service switch to automatically connect.
3. Access the internet: On the NATGW page, select virtual router resources and subnets for binding. Currently, this feature is not open by default. To enable it, please contact your account manager to apply.
